Our Mission

To nurture and empower new parents by providing affordable access to essential baby products, inclusive learning opportunities, mental health wellness services, and a supportive community—ensuring every family can thrive, regardless of their background or income.

Our Community Initiatives

Lending Library

We provide access to essential baby items
- specifically baby carriers and swaddles - making it easier for families to access what they need without the financial burden of purchasing items that are used for only a short time. Parents get to explore different styles to learn their and baby's preference.

Gift Boxes

Our curated gift boxes are designed to help new parents with thoughtful essentials, providing comfort and joy during the early days of parenting. Not only are they lovely gifts, they are also practical solutions.

Wellness

We offer wellness services focusing on mental health support, helping parents navigate the challenges of new parenthood with confidence and care.
Audrey Smith, a Certified Perinatal Mental Health therapist, can provide needs assessments to new and expectant parents to identify any needs and connect them with providers or resources in our area.

Programs

Community programs are conducted to enhance knowledge and skills, encouraging an environment where parents can learn from one another. Our Team.

Grow Our Village was founded by Audrey Smith, a counselor who has served individuals and families across North Alabama for more than 17 years. For the past seven years, much of her work has focused on supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals and families. She is also a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional, with a passion for helping parents feel supported, informed, and connected during the transition into parenthood.

Grow Our Village is made possible through collaboration with an incredible network of community partners, birth workers, mental health and healthcare professionals, and local organizations who work tirelessly to identify and fill gaps of support for new and expecting families. Together, we are committed to increasing access to knowledge, resources, and practical solutions that help families thrive.

By bringing people and organizations together, sharing knowledge, and building meaningful connections, Grow Our Village aims to create a nurturing and inclusive community where parents feel empowered, supported, and less alone. We believe that stronger connections create stronger families—and that every family deserves a village in which they can grow and belong.
